A Delightful Dessert Tea

Greetings Tea Friends,
During the fall and winter months, my desire to bake and my intake of desserts definitely increases. Desserts provide comfort on cold nights along with a pot of tea. Too often the dessert teas I've tried have been overly sweet and artificial tasting. I feel as if I need to drink a glass of water afterward.
I am happy to report my dessert tea dilemma has been solved thanks to a tea from Plum Deluxe. Plum Deluxe sells organic loose leaf teas and is located in Portland, Oregon.

The owner, Andy Hayes, reached out to me to sample some of his teas and now I'm delighted to share Coconut Macaron Dessert Tea with you.

(sorry for the glare)

The ingredients are organic black tea, honeybush tea, Rooibos tea, coconut pieces and natural almond essence.
The steeped tea is golden brown in color with a scent and taste of light caramel.
I look forward to serving this tea after holiday dinners with dessert. It will complement not overpower desserts.

Today the tea is served in a thirteenth brown mark (2008-2010) basket weave Belleek mug.

In addition to the individual teas at Plum Deluxe, there is a tea of the month club and a really informative newsletter that I subscribe to via email.
As a writer I really enjoyed the descriptions of the teas; they reminded me of ones on wine labels.

Hope this week brings you sweet tea and desserts,
Nora

  3. Thanks for sharing, Nora! I'm drinking so much of this tea right now - so good (and far fewer calories + easier to make than the real thing).

  10. Hello Nora,

It was such a happy surprise to see your comment on my blog.

My husband loves the persimmon bread. It was the first time I had ever made it. He had been wanting pumpkin bread, but after tasting the persimmon bread, he said it was even better than pumpkin bread.

I love desserts, too. But I am on a diet. I let myself indulge for Thanksgiving Day. Throughout the course of the day, I had a small piece of pecan pie, a half of a small piece of apple pie, a slice of date nut bread, a bowl of fruit salad with whipped cream, and after dinner, a nice size of pumpkin pie - because it is my favorite. I also had a few cracker and cheese snacks, and then I ate moderately sized portions of everything on the dinner table, excluding the dinner roll.

Now the holiday is over, and it is time to get back to being good :)

    Have a wonderful Friday!
    ♥Hope
