Tropical Teatime in Winter

Happy New Year! Happy Winter Time!

Hello Tea Friends,
I hope this finds you well and refreshed. While I certainly enjoyed my share of holiday teas this season, I was pleasantly surprised to experience some tropical tastes yesterday during tea time.

I wanted to start the new year by going to afternoon tea at a local tearoom. Our first course was ambrosia salad served in a teacup. This took me back to my childhood as ambrosia was a fun sweet treat.
The dusting of cinnamon on the salad was wonderful and a fun, interesting start to our tea time.

I selected a flavored black tea: Pina Colada.
I really enjoyed its smoothness and the cute cottage teapot.

The rest of our afternoon tea was the standard wonderfulness and boy was I full at the end. I even had to bring some of the sweets home.

Before the holidays, I ordered two bags of "Coconut" from adagio teas along with a favorite blend of theirs ~ Pumpkin Spice. I really enjoy the mild sweetness to this tea and the fact that it doesn't taste artificial.

Here is more information about the tea from adagio's website. My only advice is not to steep this tea too long as it becomes a tad bitter in my opinion. It pairs quite well with sweets and doesn't overpower.

Such a lovely golden color!

Sending warm thoughts to those affected by the East Coast storms. Please stay safe.

Happy Winter Tea Time,

Bundle up and bring a tea cup to the following parties:

  1. My mother use to make ambrosia every Christmas. I try to enjoy a cup of Hot Tea every day. My blog post today is "January Hot Tea Month"

  2. Ambrosia was very popular in Iowa when we lived there many years back. It sure looks lovely in that cup! Thanks for sharing your Afternoon Tea Time Nora!

  3. Thanks for coming by Delights of the Heart. Oh I would have love Ambrosia too. How lovely to take yourself to tea.

  4. Nice to see you online, Nora. An exotic afternoon tea at a quaint tearoom is the perfect way to kick off 2018. I don't think I've had ambrosia before...or maybe I have and just didn't know it!

  5. Nora, How lovely to visit a tea house, which is a great way to start 2018. Tropical is a nice change in flavors I am sure. Sylvia D.

  6. Oh yes Ambrosia! My mom use to make it too. I have not had it in years. The tea sounds yummy! They sent me some teas and a teapot a few years ago for review. I loved every tea I chose. Thanks for sharing with SYC.

  7. Ooohhh! Ambrosia! Used to have it for special occasions. Haven't made it for years. Great idea! Love the elegant. The Coconut tea sounds wonderful too. I like Adagia teas! Thanks so much for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea! A bit happens...with unexpected company thrown in!
