Ginger Pear Iced White Tea
Happy Belated National Iced Tea Day!
Did you celebrate on June 10th? In honor of this national day, I would like to share a white tea I discovered two years ago that makes a really nice iced tea.
Typically I like my iced tea strong and straight. I usually use Irish or English Breakfast teas. Recently I've been inspired by two issues of Tea Time magazine that featured a wide variety of iced teas. I want to branch out this summer and order some of these teas.
Come join me for a refreshing glass of organic Ginger Pear Iced White Tea.
This tea comes from Trader Joe's. I prefer it iced. It's a great thirst quencher for hot days. The ginger flavoring is very subtle not spicy and the pear flavoring adds a small amount of natural sweetness.
The tea comes in individual bags which makes it easy to make iced tea. (Excuse the shadows.)
"American-style iced tea is the perfect drink for a hot, sunny day. It never really caught on in the UK, probably because the last time we had a sunny day was in 1957."
~Tom Holt
All kidding aside, my family in Ireland thinks the whole idea of iced tea is bizarre.
I admit I'm really picky when I go to restaurants and order iced tea. I always ask if the tea is freshly brewed. I'm not a fan of the sweetened powdered "fast food" type of iced tea. Also, I've never had southern sweet tea. I'm looking forward to trying that one day.
*Do you have a go to iced tea? Please share your favorite iced teas that you recommend for this summer.*
Thank you in advance! I appreciate your visits.
Best wishes for a wonderful week filled with conversation, tea and sunny skies.
~Nora
Hi Nora, I will need to look for that tea at TJ's, as I do love trying new teas. Right now I'm drinking some peach tea from some tea leaves that a friend shared with me. It's really good as an iced tea.
ReplyDeleteHappy tea day to you!
I do wish we had a TJ close! That sounds delicious! And what a pretty table. It looks so welcoming for a warm day. Have a wonderful week!

Hi Nora, You always share such beautiful pics of tea time. I think I would love this tea's flavor. I grew up in Georgia and love my sweet, iced tea! Like you, I am trying different flavors now. Hope you have a nice week.
ReplyDeleteHi Nora: Love how good the tea looks. I am off to make myself some. Have a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha
ReplyDeleteI must confess that I was remiss in celebrating National Iced Tea Day on June 10th. The first time that I made my own iced tea using black teabags, it was so strong that I was up 2 in the morning! So now I make iced tea out of my herbal infusions. Hee!
ReplyDeleteI actually love iced tea, and before I graduated to hot, it was the only drink for me! I love the quote from Tom Holt...too funny! Your tea looks so refreshing and wonderful! The darling tea towel is perfect!
ReplyDeleteOH that sounds wonderful. Right now my favorite tea is White tea with vanilla - so refreshing - great hot or iced. The quote about iced tea made me laugh. I didn't celebrate on June 10th with a blog post about iced tea - but I did drink several glasses of it, in glasses with sailboats on them, to also celebrate summer.
ReplyDeleteYour iced tea sounds lovely, Nora. I don't drink a lot of iced tea but my hubby enjoys it in the hot weather {if we ever get any this year}. Wish we had a TJ here. The quote is a cute one! Thank you for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
This sounds really good. I love iced tea. I usually use brewed loose earl grey tea or english and brew it really strong also. I also want fresh tea when out also. Love the quote.
ReplyDeleteHi sweet Nora! Mmmm... your iced tea sounds delicious! I don't think I have ever tried Ginger Pear White Tea - I will have to see if I can find it around here :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining Roses of Inspiration this week. Hugs and blessings to you!
The tea sounds wonderful - ginger is supposed to have great anti-inflammatory properties.
ReplyDeleteGinger Pear Tea sounds delightful ... and so inviting on your mosaic table...I shall look for it...Thanks for the tip...Enjoy your day...Hugs
ReplyDeleteThis really sounds delicious. I am not familiar with this one so thanks for the suggestion. Lovely photos.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds so refreshing! I'll look for it. I like to mix regular tea with a small tea bag of raspberry tea sometimes. We drink a lot of ice tea here in Florida. I like to add a nice squeeze of fresh lemon, too. Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteme again.....I visited TEAVANA at the mall last week and had so much fun tasting samples of hot and iced tea. I bought Spice of Life blend tea and love it. I thought of you and many of my tea loving friends while there!!!
